India Center, celebrating its 10th anniversary, was born in 1996 with the vision to play the role of a catalyst in the development of India. Inspired by Japan’s vitality and restless pursuit to develop the country into an international leader in economic activity and other fields, India Center believed strong ties between India and Japan could benefit both countries immensely.
During this decade India Center has taken several unique initiatives towards fulfilling this role with the desire to catalyse new interactions at all levels between Japan and India based on empathy and mutual respect. While implementing a series of activities designed to encourage mutual understanding, cooperation, and trust, we aim to motivate both countries to build a special friendship and partnership that will grow organically by utilizing and synergizing their unique strengths. We are convinced that stronger ties between Japan and India will form the foundation for the Asia of the future.
It is to India Center’s credit and ceaseless work that such a strong partnership has today been forged between India and Japan. We now see Japan playing a major role in India’s development in the coming years. Similarly, we believe that India is now in an advantageous position to support Japan’s future development and international leadership as well. We firmly believe that this unique partnership and friendship will develop further by pursuing a mutual concept of "Stronger India-Stronger Japan and Stronger Japan-Stronger India". This will make the most important contribution to peace, stability and economic vitality in a rapidly changing world.
